GLOBAL TREND : TAIWAN YOUBIKE

Have you ever been to a place that isn't walkable, but is too expensive to take a Taxi. During 2015, Taipei local government set a new public transportation to all the citizen that live in both Taipei and new Taipei city, the Ubike.

The Ubike makes a lot of conveniences for the citizens of Taiwan. Many citizens can ride the Ubike to work, or student can ride to school. Also, the fee is really cheap, it takes 5 Taiwanese dollars per half hours. For me, I will ride Ubike from my home to Taipei Dome to visit my friends. It only took me half an hour to go to the Dome, and each time cost 5 dollars. If you took a bus, it costs 12 dollars for students, and the MRT will be more expensive, it costs 24 dollars and takes 30 minutes. Basically, the YouBike system is very convenient.

All Ubikes are made by Giant. Giant is a company that has produced bikes since 1972, the company is located in Taichong. TCR, Defy, which are their famous product.

In the UK, there is also a public bike for citizens, it's called Santander Cycles, the fee is 2.2 each time, you can ride the Santander Cycles from center of London to zone 2. Basically, this bike can makes either citizens or travelers go through all the attractions in London. For me, I think the fee is too expensive for only riding a bike, it won't encourage people to ride the bike, also the stops for the bike is not enough. If a lot of people from different places want to go to the same destination, they won't have space to stop the bike.

Santander bike rental system makes riding in England more convenient.

There is also a public bike system in France, it's called Velib. The fee is really low, it costs 0 dollars for the first 30 minutes and it costs only 1 euro for the first hour. The Velib has a one day pass or week ticket. One day pass costs 5 euros, week pass costs 15 dollars, which is really good for both citizens and travelers. However, the problem is that the roads in Paris are not suitable for bicycles, many road are too dangerous, because they don't have a road only bicycle, it increases the chance to be in danger.

Velid bike rental system makes riding in Paris more convenient.

For me, I would suggest Ubike can have a ticket for a whole year or month, it would encourage some people that were not interesting at Ubike join the member and get rid of motorbike or cars.
